Mixer → Screw conveyor → Twin-screw extruder → Air conveyor → Dryer → Flavoring Line → Cooling machine
- Raw materials including cereal flour, vegetable proteins, minerals, vitamins, and optionally meat or fish flour are processed
- Dry ingredients enter the pre-conditioner for steam hydration with counter-rotary twin shaft blending for optimal mixing
- Partial gelatinization of starches and texturing of polymers occurs during preconditioning
- The mixture feeds into the twin-screw extruder with precise control of shearing, temperature, pressure, moisture, and residence times
- Liquids or steam injection through barrel ports with optional degassing via vent-stuffer
- Granules are shaped through the die, dried to 8-10% moisture, coated with flavoring and fat, then cooled and packaged
